Rural female international day

At the 1995 United Nations World Conference on Women in Beijing, three non-governmental organizations gave birth to the idea of ​​a global initiative, which culminated in the proclamation of an – International World Women’s Day. Women are critical to rural development, and officially proclaimed World Heritage Day by the United Nations, International Women’s Day in Rural Areas was first celebrated on October 15, 2008. The basis for the day was the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 2007, according to which – Women in rural areas, including indigenous women, play a crucial role in promoting agricultural and rural development, improving food security and combating rural poverty. Since 1997, the Women’s World Summit Foundation (Women’s World Summit Foundation) manages the distribution of this initiative as a major global campaign.
