Flood: People with Disability Seek Urgent Support
Presidential aspirant of the, Nigerian Association of the Blind (NAB,) Barr. Sunny Ezurike has called on philanthropist and relevant stakeholders to support victims of flood disaster especially those living with disability in the country.
The Secretary- General NAB, Kano state Chapter and North West Zonal Coordinator aspirant, Abdulrazaq Ado Zango in a statement on Monday said Ezurike revealed that people living with disabilities are more affected by the flood event.
According to the statement, he revealed that these are very trying times for people living with disability (PWDs).
“I have been inundated with calls and text messages from many of our brothers and sisters who are displaced by the flood.
“And it is very unfortunate that I can only do very little to assist given the enormity of those seeking for help.
“Most of our members do not have food to eat, even access to health facilities is a major challenge in this trying times.
“We are calling on respective state governments, local government councils as well as philanthropist to support us in any way they can in order alleviate our pain.”
