Nigeria and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) aimed at operationalising the Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme (IATP) across Africa.
The agreement marks a major step toward strengthening the continent’s aviation sector through improved infrastructure, connectivity, and investment opportunities.
Earlier on May 27, the AfDB appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, as the African champion for the bank’s $7 billion aviation transformation initiative.
The programme is expected to support the modernization of airports, boost regional air transport, and promote economic growth through a more efficient and competitive aviation industry across Africa.
