The Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller of Fire (DCF), UM Sadiq, as the new State Controller for the Kano State Command with immediate effect. The deployment is part of the Service’s efforts to strengthen operational leadership and improve emergency response across the country.

Mr. Sadiq succeeds Controller of Fire (CF), Kazeem Sholadoye, who has been redeployed to head the Jigawa State Command in an acting capacity. The Federal Fire Service expressed appreciation to Sholadoye for his commitment and valuable contributions during his time in charge of the Kano Command.

A native of Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Mr. Sadiq is described by the Service as an experienced firefighter, administrator, and policy strategist. According to an official statement, he brings extensive expertise in fire prevention, emergency management, and institutional reforms, which is expected to further strengthen the Federal Fire Service’s operations in Kano.
