Iran’s largest private airline, Mahan Air, has begun taking delivery of ten Boeing 777-200ER aircraft previously operated by Saudia.
The first of the wide-body jets arrived in Iran on Wednesday, while the remaining aircraft are expected to be delivered in phases, with more arrivals anticipated on Thursday.
The acquisition is expected to significantly boost Mahan Air’s long-haul operations and strengthen Iran’s aviation capacity by adding modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to its fleet.
The development comes as Iran’s civil aviation industry continues to expand amid easing economic pressures and renewed efforts to modernize the country’s air transport sector.
