China has introduced what it says is the world’s first dual-core neutral atom quantum computer. The new machine is designed to handle complex calculations faster and more efficiently than traditional computers.
According to Chinese scientists, the computer works like “two brains” operating together at the same time. This allows it to support parallel computing, where multiple tasks can be processed simultaneously.
The breakthrough was officially announced on May 7 and is being described as a major step forward in quantum computing technology. Experts believe the development could improve research in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and scientific simulations.
China’s state-run Science and Technology Daily said the achievement shows the country’s quantum computing industry is “entering a new stage.” The announcement also highlights the growing global competition in advanced technology between major world powers.
