Iran has declared that it will not participate in any regional or international agreement that ignores the situation in Lebanon, stressing that developments in the country remain closely tied to wider Middle East negotiations. Iranian officials said the ongoing tensions and security concerns in Lebanon cannot be separated from broader diplomatic discussions involving the region.
According to reports, Iranian authorities emphasized that a ceasefire and stability in Lebanon are essential conditions for any lasting agreement. Tehran accused Israel of continuing military operations in Lebanese territories and warned that such actions could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts involving the United States and other regional actors.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei reportedly stated that Lebanon’s security is a “non-negotiable” issue for Tehran. He argued that excluding Lebanon from peace discussions would make negotiations ineffective and meaningless, particularly while violence and instability continue in the region.
The statement comes amid renewed international efforts to broker ceasefire agreements between Israel and Lebanon following weeks of escalating conflict. Analysts say Iran’s position highlights the growing complexity of regional diplomacy, as multiple conflicts across the Middle East become increasingly interconnected.
