On 08/01/2026, the Kakakin Dala Organization led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Office of the Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, located at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Kano. The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between community leadership in Dala Local Government Area and the Ministry, particularly on healthcare infrastructure and service delivery improvements.
In his statement, the Chairman of the Kakakin Dala Association, Professor Aliyu Sulaiman Kantudu, appealed to the Commissioner of Health to upgrade the status of two hospitals located in Dala Local Government Area, namely Dandishe Hospital and Dala Hospital.
In his remark Kano state Commissioner of health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, expressed his satisfaction with the visit and pledged to implement the requests and aspirations presented to him by the Kakakin Dala Association.
He explained that the upgrade will involve the expansion of infrastructure, provision of modern medical equipment, and deployment of qualified medical personnel to the two facilities.
According to him, once upgraded, the hospitals will be capable of providing comprehensive secondary healthcare services, including emergency care, maternity services, surgery, laboratory diagnostics, and inpatient care.
He further stated that the initiative is part of the state government’s broader health sector reform agenda aimed at decongesting tertiary hospitals, improving access to quality healthcare at the grassroots level, and reducing maternal and child mortality across the state.
