The AUKUS alliance — comprising the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia — is set to expand its military capabilities beneath the oceans with the deployment of next-generation unmanned undersea drones by 2027.
The advanced systems are being developed to carry out a range of missions, including intelligence gathering, surveillance, precision strikes, anti-submarine warfare, and the protection of critical maritime routes.
The move marks a significant step in strengthening undersea defense capabilities and is expected to intensify strategic competition across the Indo-Pacific region, where military modernization and security rivalries continue to grow.
