Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that any threats of sanctions against India would quickly backfire on those imposing them. He said such measures would “boomerang immediately” and fail to achieve their intended goals.
Putin praised India for consistently making decisions based on its own national interests rather than external pressure. According to him, New Delhi has maintained an independent approach in its foreign and economic policies.
The Russian leader’s remarks come amid ongoing international discussions over India’s relations with Russia, particularly in trade and energy cooperation.
Putin emphasized that India remains a sovereign nation that prioritizes its own development and strategic interests when making key policy decisions.
