Engender Health a Non governmental organization has assured its readiness to support Kano state Contributrebutory Healthcare Management Board in mobilizing informal Sector to be Enrolle.
The representative of the organization In the state Atiku Muhammad Yola stated this at the flag off of the Enrollment of 150 Pregnant women into the state Contributrebutory Healthcare Scheme Sponsored by Dawakin Kudu Waqaf Foundation and Kano state Contributrebutory Healthcare Management Agency KSCHMA held in Dawakin Kudu General Hospital.
He said One of the objective of the Engender Health is working with Kano state government through KSCHMA in mobilizing the all sectors in the state to benefit from the service.
“Before those that are working in the government are in system, but now we want more from private sector, individual sector particularly informal Sector I e those that are volnerable, those that are very poor but they can afford.” He said
According to Atiku Muhammad Yola Kano state government through KSCHMA has came with a very flexible payment method were some one will be paying 4000 Naira Three times in a year.
” This is very small 12000 for a family per one person that will cover his health cost through the year.” Atiku Yola added
” One of the Cardinal principle we are working is to ensure we reduce Neonatal Mortality and maternal mortarlity in the state. As you know, Kano state is leading on that, so we want to reverse this to see both mother and newborn are healthy. They can be healthy if they delivered in the Hospital, if they have Hospital care, if they have quality care.” According to Engender Health
Speaking earlier,the executive secretary Kano state Contributrebutory Healthcare Management Agency KSCHMA Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar said the enrollment attracted community leaders, women’s groups, healthcare professionals, and development partners.
According to Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar the event was hailed as a landmark intervention that will reduce maternal mortality and improve safe motherhood outcomes in the state.
The Executive Secretary represented by the Director Administration and General Services, Hajiya Amina Sani Usman, reiterated that the contributory healthcare scheme is designed to ensure equitable access to healthcare for all residents without financial hardship.
“By sponsoring these pregnant women, the Waqaf Foundation has secured access to antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care for vulnerable mothers. This is a model of partnership we encourage others to emulate, as it brings us closer to universal health coverage in Kano State,” she said.
The Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Waqaf Foundation, Alhaji Aminu Bala Usman, Sarkin Dawakin, explained that the sponsorship reflects the Foundation’s mission of supporting vulnerable groups, noting that healthy mothers and children form the bedrock of community development.
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, Alhaji Sani Ahmad Mairago, represented by his Vice Chairman, Alhaji Shu’aibu Aliyu Yar’gaya, commended KSCHMA and the Waqaf Foundation for their collaboration and assured the Council’s commitment to supporting similar initiatives that benefit residents.
